Jehovah’s Witnesses on St. Lucia made History by hosting their first ever Assembly entirely in Creole. The Event was held last weekend at their Assembly Hall in Bexon. Stephen Best is an elder with the Deliede Congregation. He explains that the intention was to give persons an opportunity to understand the bible in their native tongue.
Participants at the assembly young and old armed with copies of their Creole Bibles, paid wrapped attention to the Programme, grateful for the opportunity to communicate in their Mother Tongue. Many are hoping that out of the conference will come, the possibility of the production of a St. Lucian Creole Translation of the well known journals the Awake and Watchtower. At present the publications are now published in over 200 languages.
